Action and Damper Regulation

Regulation is an important aspect of maintenance for EVERY PIANO. A piano’s action is comprised of every mechanism that connects the tip of your finger to the sounding piano string- and even the dampers and back action that stop the sound. These many parts need to be regularly adjusted to keep your piano’s touch and tone in excellent condition. At every tuning appointment, I assess the piano’s action and address any immediate needs. During the longer service appointments, I make any necessary repairs and optimize the piano’s action in order to improve repetition, evenness, tone, and dynamic variety.
