Piano Restoration

Shop regulation, ReconditioN,& rebushing

With many years of playing or neglect, a piano’s action can need major reconditioning of its parts and full regulation of every action specification. This process takes several days and needs to be done in the workshop. It includes a thorough cleaning of all parts, shaping hammers, rebushing keys as needed, and action regulation.

hammer replacement and action rebuilding

Sometimes the parts are just too worn out or damaged due to age, wear and tear, or climactic conditions and cannot be used any longer. In this case, your piano will need new parts installed in my shop located in SODO. Once the new parts are installed, the piano will work like new. Contact me to schedule an appointment for an inspection and estimate.

restringing & Soundboard repairs

When strings are old, overstretched, overplayed, corroded, and rusty, they need to be replaced to improve the piano’s tone and tunability. We replace tuning pins, strings, agraffes as needed, and install soundboard shims to repair soundboard cracks.
