Piano Tuning in greater seattle

I use a combination of aural and electronic methods to achieve the clearest and most stable tuning possible for your piano. Due to my years of experience as a music theorist and pianist, I have a deeper understanding of the nature of sound&acoustics as well as the technical needs of the pianist at the instrument. Your piano needs to be tuned seasonally due to environmental changes that affect the elasticity and porosity of piano parts, unless you opt to install a dampp-chaser system. Piano strings are made of steel that need to maintain a certain tension, and the longer you go without tuning the greater likelihood the strings lose that tension and require a pitch raise and additional tunings to be brought back up to standard pitch, A440.

Dampp-Chaser installation

A full dampp-chaser system is well worth the investment as it significantly reduces the changes in tuning caused by temperature and humidity. With a humidifier/dehumidifier which cycles to maintain a constant ideal relative humidity of 45%, you will find the tuning, regulation, and voicing all last longer with greater stability and consistency. I’m a certified dampp chaser installer, having completed the training course and 5 full installations.

I can inspect your current dampp chaser installation.

This piano didn’t need a pitch adjustment even after several years without service thanks to this full system and despite its age the parts are still in excellent condition.
